The Top 5 Places You’ve Been Missing out on at Laguna Beach

Have you been missing out on these amazing gems that Laguna Beach has to offer? Check them out on your next visit to get the most out of your beach day!

1.  Rudi’s Shells

This quaint little shell shack is easy to miss, but it’s one of my favorite shops in all of Laguna. Located on South Coast Highway just up the hill from the main beach, Rudi’s Shells sells beautiful jewelry, shells, paintings, and signs at prices that won’t break your bank. The employees are incredibly friendly and a great source for any questions you might have about Laguna.

2.  Tuvalu

Located on Forest Avenue, this shop gives off a vintage beach feel. Whether you’re looking for a strand of shells to decorate your room, a new nautical necklace, or a dining room table trimmed in shells, Tuvalu will meet all of your beachy needs. No matter what it is you’re looking for, this shop offers a unique selection of items that you won’t find anywhere else.

3.  Kush Fine Art

Whether or not you’re an art lover, walking through surrealist painter Vladimir Kush’s gallery is an experience unlike any other. His paintings are filled with bright and whimsical illusions that challenge the eye. Some of my favorite Kush works include a table covered in a rippling tablecloth that doubles as the ocean, and a swimming turtle whose shell is actually an island.  This gallery, located on Forest Avenue, is one you won’t want to miss.

4. Watermarc

A long day filled with swimming, sun, sandy feet, and shopping can sure work up an appetite. Watermarc, located on South Coast Highway, is the perfect spot to satisfy your cravings. The dim lighting, artistic entrées, and the alley that borders the restaurant create a modern ambiance that can’t be beat. The food is absolutely delicious and each item on the menu is packed with unique flavor combinations. Whether you’re here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even happy hour, you’re in for a treat.

5. La Tour

A lot of people only visit the main beach located in downtown Laguna, and they miss out on La Tour, a beach just a few miles down the road. This beach is home to one of Laguna’s most beautiful curiosities: it has its own castle. Yes, you heard me right, a castle!  This beach is incredibly secluded, with rock walls on either side that make it feel as if you’re on your own private estate. Make sure to check out La Tour at low tide, as it can be a bit tricky to get to when the water rises.
